You’ve heard it before; what God has for you is for you. But do you believe this? As you consider everything that has happened in the past two years, you may find this challenging to fathom. Here’s the thing; uncertain times do not determine your future. Jeremiah 29:11 -ESV, confirms; For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. The Lord has some unusual blessings for your future. It seems circumstances have halted all the efforts for this fulfillment.
Israel had been taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon. They were refugees in a strange land. These people did not have the same customs, beliefs, nor did they serve Yahweh, the true and living God. Despite these cultural differences, God tells them to build houses, plant gardens, and delight in the goods thereof. He even requires His people to marry and have families. They were to increase and not decrease. Likewise, He commands them to seek the; welfare of the city and pray on its behalf. In other words, work and produce while you are in captivity, and its inhabitants can have peace and prosperity. Their prosperity will depend on how they treat the ones who hold them as servants. Furthermore, they would be in exile for seventy years. In the most horrific seasons of life, God confirms they would experience peace and triumph and no harm would come to them. He will make your enemies your foot stole. (Psalms 110:1).
So, nobody can block your blessing. They may cause a delay, but it is only temporary. When you walk upright before the Lord, He makes even those who hate you; favoryou. His Word declares He will withhold any good thing from anyone who walks upright before Him. (Psalms 84:11). Walking upright means your heart becomes in sync with His, and you focus on Him to the exclusion of almost everything else. You allow nothing to come between you and your relationship with the Lord. He becomes your heart’s greatest desire. In this magnificent camaraderie, He is your everything. Then blessings pour into your life like rivers of living water. Nothing or anything shall stop them because God has ordained it to be so. Whatever He proclaims in heaven, so shall it be on earth.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION:
When your misguided actions and choices place you in a season of prolonged waiting, do you blame God or yourself? Why and how does this affect your relationship with the Lord?
