When Our Faith Goes Through the Stretching Season

Our muscles are an important part of the body because this is how our body moves. All of them are made of a kind of elastic tissue and contain thousands of musculus fibers. This bundle of fibrous tissue is how everyone stretch, bend and twist. Depending on how many of these are present determines the strength of the muscle. Even the food we eat helps to fuel them. When one muscle contracts, the other expands because there are about 320 pairs of identical bilateral muscles.

Well, faith is similar to our muscles. Our body needs those muscles otherwise it won’t function. Our life needs faith, otherwise, we won’t know what God can do when we don’t see a way through. No one gains great faith without it being stretched, strained, and tested. With faith in God, He will do the impossible, but without faith, it is impossible to please Him. (Hebrews 11:1-6, ESV). It takes believing in the Lord for Him to do what we can’t yet see. We need faith, if and when anyone orders us to do something that goes against our character or suffers the consequences. We must have faith in God to fight off the opposition and the fierce attacks of the enemy. Those who don’t like you because you love Jesus will rise against you. Sometimes, this means your faith may be stretched beyond what you thought you could ever endure. It will be strained so hard; the pain will seem unbearable. (Jeremiah 1:19, AMP). Faith may be tested to the point you feel as if you’ll lose all hope and confidence in God.

Beloved, this grows our faith in God. In this process, you are being refined and will discover how strong you are. Such times teach us to trust the Lord when it’s hard to see how things turn out. More importantly, this will deepen our relationship with Him and make us more Christ-like. It becomes a testament to the greatness of God. Countless others are left speechless and Awe-Struck because you overcame what they felt was sure would ruin you. Dear One, don’t fight the stretching season because it’s preparing you for an even greater ministry.

I pray this song; Wait on the Lord by Donnie McClurkin and Karen Clark Sheard stirs your heart and faith in God.
