The Struggles Made Me Resilient

Have you ever gone through something so painful you lost all hope? You thought God was breaking you instead of building you. It was as if He would not lift a finger to lift you from despair. It was like the Lord had abandoned you. You never imagined He would allow you to; go through such pain and misery. Beloved, some troubles come to make you all He created you to be and not to tear you apart. For this to happen, struggles are inevitable. Yet, struggles are something we do not welcome. They push our patience to the limit and can cause discouragement. Still, there will come a season to endure those awful challenges. Though these are exasperating, they help build our character and increase our faith in the Lord. We would not have discovered how resilient we are had it not been for those struggles.

My Friend, it is not that the Lord gets joy from your pain, but He knows coming to your aid too soon will not help you grow. Like a baby who falls several times before he learns to walk, a mother will only cripple him if she keeps picking him up. The ways of God are not our ways, and how He equips us will not make sense. (Isaiah 55:8-9, AMP). You want to take the quickest route, but instead, your circumstances intensify, which causes emotional and mental anguish. You assumed you had it all sorted out since you strategized and prepared the ideal resolution, but rather than getting better, circumstances worsened.

Now you are wondering, where is God in the grand scheme of things? Why won’t He make a way where there seems to be no way? Then as you submit and surrender control, you begin to experience His peace. Your faith is now aligned with His plan, and you realize He has never left you. You now acknowledge He was developing and strengthening you to go to the next level. Likewise, this season taught you the importance of how to wait on the Lord with the right attitude. You now have the strength to persevere without overthinking, which could have led to making unwise decisions. Beloved, though it does not look like it, God is forever building you when it seems He is breaking you. He has an even greater call on your life; still, you will not get there without those struggles. God knows such a season as this will help you go further than you have ever been. Then you can be a fine example for others.
