Over the past three years, most have experienced seasons of waiting more often than usual. Some of these reasons do not make sense and cause undue stress. Sometimes, waiting is not the problem, but it helps to have a reasonable explanation and time frame. These days, this seems impossible. Still, throughout the Bible, we are commanded to wait on the Lord. (Isaiah 40:31; Lamentations 3:25-26; Hebrews 6:15).
In Psalms 27:14, we are encouraged to have confidence in the Lord while we wait. “Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.” In this Psalms, David first declares that God is his light and salvation. He was confident in the ability of God to deliver him from his troubles. His steadfast faith in the Lord overpowered any doubt and fear.
Like David, God knows you are waiting and how long you have been waiting. Nothing gets by Him. Even when the answer does not come when you want it to, His due season will obey His command. Beloved, allow this Psalms to give your waiting season reason. Let it bring you hope for today that gets you to tomorrow. You may not know when it will happen, but still, He is not allowing you to wait for no reason. So, expect to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He sees your future, and the outcome will be more than you imagined because He has given it purpose. You have much to wait on, so do not become weary and give up. In due season, you will reap a mighty harvest.
I pray the musical selection; Take Courage by Kristine DiMarco stirs your heart and encourages you to wait with great expectations.
