The Broken Miracle

Updated: Apr 17, 2021

Not all of us get to belong to an exclusive club because we’re born with half a functioning heart. I don’t think anyone, neither Paul Cardall, himself, would have chosen to be part of such, either. Sometimes life turns out not as we hoped, but in this journey, we will discover nothing surprises God. Better still, He sees the end that helps us understand by and by. So, from giving his heart a name to candidly sharing his struggles and hardships, The Broken Miracle takes you on an extraordinary journey. Paul even shares his sense of humor; which makes you laugh and say; “No, he did not go there!” And you’ll feel his pain as he experiences the anguish of just wanting the Lord to bless him with a healthy heart. He even admits that clinging to life became a pain of its own.

Out of the darkness came forth such heartwarming songs as he emerged as an internationally acclaimed pianist. I’ve heard his music and own a few albums, so believe me when I say each one does minister to your heart, mind, and soul. He tells his story through such dynamic instrumental selections and now this amazing book. Each album, Redeemer, Monday Morning, Sacred Piano, and others are birthed from these daunting obstacles that will help us grasp why his father said; “Stop asking God to end a season you don’t understand yet.” As I read this timeless piece of literature, I could feel the joy when he accomplished doing something as simple as climbing stairs. But I experienced the hurt and tremendous sorrow during those moments when it seemed nothing makes sense.

The work is a potent dose of medicine for the heart when you feel nothing could get worse. It is the hope to cling to when despair overwhelms you and you’ve lost your faith. If Part 1 is this astounding, I look forward with great anticipation for Part 2! Beloved, are you looking for a treasure to turn your sorrow into joy and the peace of God that conquers torment, look no further. The Broken Miracle is a gift from God that will open your eyes to the truth that even when He doesn’t make sense, to trust Him no matter what and leave the outcome in His hands. Thank you, J. D. Netto, for a story well written. It is with sincere gratitude to my dear friend, Paul Cardall, I endorse this invaluable book.

I pray the musical selection, Gracie's Theme by Paul Cardall, stirs your heart and faith in God.
