Thanksgiving 2025 – Psalms 30

ree

You recall the times when you experienced peace like a river, and all was as it should be. However, the results you expected were not the outcome; it seems something came and turned the world upside down. Inflation, post-election stress, social unrest, and political upheaval have taken their toll. However, Psalm 30 echoes from centuries long ago and reminds us that though our toil may bring tears, in due season, we will reap relentless joy.

In these uncertain times, Beloved, we can still give thanks unto the Lord. However, when hopelessness and despair feel greater than your blessings, it may be difficult for some to be grateful. Besides, shouldn’t life be easier than this? Dear One, God never promised us joy without sorrow, hope without despair, or strength without weakness. However, He did reassure us in Psalms 30:5 that weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Our struggles are temporary and not a life sentence.

Life has victories and challenges, good times, and stormy seasons. A year ago, perhaps your life was better, but now, everything has changed. There is hope in Psalm 30 because, despite how things were and how different they are, it begins with exalting the Lord. After all, He brought you out and did not allow your enemies to triumph over you. So, Beloved, remember, the Almighty healed you when you cried for help because He always inclines His ear to your cries. He heard you then, and He hears you today.

Psalms 30:3-5 reminds us that, when it seemed like all was over, the Lord revived us and made us whole. We sang praises to Him and boasted of His greatness to all who would listen. Even when we messed up, His correction was for our good and not to harm us. It made us grow stronger and wiser. Once again, we learned that weeping may endure for a night, but at the break of day, our joy overflowed.

Then Psalms 30:6-12; shouted louder than our pain because we have enjoyed seasons of prosperity and lack, and at times, He seemed silent and far away. Even in those times of prosperity, we learned never to develop a false sense of security because in the blink of an eye, everything can change.

Yet, we persevered and sought His help through supplications and prayers. He was gracious while granting us favor and making all things new. How can we not thank God because once again, He turned our mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Dear One, have a glorious Thanksgiving that fills your heart with unrelentless gratitude.
