Something Good is Coming From This

Something good is coming from this. Have you ever had a situation where you were given an appointed time for completion, and it did not occur at that time? Yet, you may still be in the waiting room, hoping for things to work out for your good. However, you have invested your time, made every effort to fulfill your commitment, and been a source of encouragement.

It is as if you are in a loop, coming so close to the finished line, then something happens, and you have to start all over again. You prayed, fasted, and fought off doubt through believing in the Word of God. Still, the distractions, obstacles, and doing things the same way continue to hinder progress.

Dear One, these actions may have caused emotional and mental exhaustion. Even holding someone accountable for their actions offends them, while they continue to take your kindness and patience for granted. However, Romans 14:19, AMP, calls for us to pursue peace, which is what you are doing. Dear One, something good is coming from this.

Sometimes, you might become so frustrated that you feel as if enough is enough. You want to give someone a stern ultimatum. Then the Holy Spirit reminds you to set a guard at your mouth and keep watch at the door of your lips. (Psalms 141:3). No offense is worth us acting unlike Christ.

Christ.

Still, this situation may have stretched your patience beyond what you knew possible. Though acknowledging how Jesus espoused hypocrisy and confronted sin, He likewise modeled remarkable resistance to offense while demonstrating the greatest example of forgiveness when He prayed on the cross, “Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34).

Beloved, something good is coming from this. Every time you return empathy and compassion instead of becoming bitter,  you exemplify how the plan of salvation through Christ already conquered all human shortcomings. And as all involved continue with honest conversations, gentle accountability, and sincere apologies, what the devil means for evil, the Lord turns into something extraordinary. The root of bitterness cannot form, and it will not prosper. (Genesis 50:20; Hebrews 12:15).

It may not look or feel like anything will change because every time it comes close to it turning around, the same problems resurface. Dear One, no good thing will God withhold from those who walk upright before Him. He who started a good work in you will bring it to completion. It is not in our efforts, but God honors your actions, patience, and kindness, and something good is coming from this.

I pray as you wait, that the song, The Waiting, I Just Want You by Vicki Yohe, stirs your heart.

TIME FOR REFLECTION: Waiting can stretch our patience. Let us discuss the spiritual means to hold someone accountable for their actions when they continue to do the same things. Join the conversation with your comments below. Someone needs your encouragement.
