Our Freedoms Are a Blessing

When I go to the park and pray, I often thank God for this precious freedom. In America, we have been blessed with many freedoms. Having these is not the problem. However, the trouble is those who abuse the freedoms God has blessed us with. So, let us always remember the freedoms we have in America. The freedom to go to the park and pray. The freedom to choose a job or where to live. We can decide who to marry. We even get to choose to believe or not to believe in God. However, always appreciate this freedom and let us never abuse or take it for granted.

Today, July 4th, 2024, cherish this gift by vowing to treat others better than how you want anybody to treat you. Live out Luke 6:31, AMP. Please treat everyone with the same respect you desire them to give you. It is a blessing to have opinions, customs, and beliefs that differ from others. Still, never impose those on anybody. Test your commitment to your relationships. Beloved, if you feel yours are valid while others are meaningless, what does that say about you? Are you not among those who cause conflict, strife, and division?

My Friend, America, stands at a critical juncture. So, be a light-bearer. Be a source of encouragement and not discouragement. Lift others instead of tearing them down. Speak the truth, but do so in love and compassion. Use your freedom to do good and not to harm others. (Matthew 5:14-15; Ephesians 4:14-15; 1 Peter 2:1-15). As I stated in my new book, Insights from Christ; coming this July, “Be kind to those with different lifestyle preferences. I do not have to agree with you, but I can disagree by respecting you. We will not like everything the same or want the same, but we sure should not allow that to cause us to hate others.” And the best way to draw others is through love and kindness. (Jeremiah 31:2-4). Leave a residue of God’s love behind everywhere you go. Have a blessed and glorious 4th of July. Now, go and love the whatever out of them!

I pray the musical selection, Just Like Jesus by Iveth Luna stirs your heart to be more like Christ everywhere you go.

TIME FOR REFLECTION: Freedom is a precious gift from God. How will you help others appreciate these freedoms instead of abusing them? Let's encourage somebody today. Leave your comment, hit that heart, and share.
