Given the chaos in the world, it is easy to be consumed by worry. The news flashes violence while unkind people take center stage. The cost of living skyrockets, while many feel uncertain about the future. It is enough to make anybody fall into despair. Problems will always exist, and we cannot do anything to make them non-existent. Though some are only for a season, the effects can cause much distress and despair.
All these problems result in many worrying about tomorrow when God tells us it has enough trouble. (Matthew 6:34, AMP). The thing about worry is that it sees the troubles, while faith sees the God who can handle any challenge. Worry is also a bully because it always showcases the worst-case scenario. It makes everything seem worse than it is. Worry even creates false images in your mind to cause discouragement. It results in worry playing a never-ending loop in your mind that causes fear and makes you question the ability of God.
Beloved, our circumstances can easily distract us. However, you have experienced the mighty power of the Lord when all looked hopeless, so do not lose heart over what may or may not happen. Let your faith become mightier than your anxieties because you know that He will do it again. When the time comes, He will have the answer that exceeds your expectations. Besides, He is mightier than anything you are going through.
The Israelites worried when they saw Pharoah’s massive army rapidly approaching. However, Moses had a history with the Lord, so He told them to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. He assured them that they would never see their enemy again. God split the Red Sea and made it into the most gorgeous waterfall eyes have ever seen. The enemy pursued, was drowned, and was never seen again. (Exodus 14:13-30).
At the pool of Bethesda, the invalid man was anxious as he waited and hoped for someone to help him into the pool. He had been ill for thirty-eight years. However, he believed he would be healed if he could only get into the pool. Jesus saw him and asked if he wanted to be healed. After giving his answer, Christ commanded him to get up, and he obeyed. Immediately, he was healed and picked up his mat and walked. He did not need someone to help him into the pool, he only needed to believe in the power of Christ to help him. (John 5:1-9).
Somebody reading this needs to lie down their worry, pick up their faith, and let God heal them from anxiety. Activate your faith despite your fears and cast all your concerns on the Lord. Lay down whatever is troubling you and pick up that mustard seed faith, though you are in a field of doubt.
The Almighty understands your concerns and has enough provisions to fulfill your needs. You must trust and obey Him, and He will do the rest. Let your focus be on doing His will. It is not to seem oblivious to how you feel but to remind you that God relates to what you are going through. He understands pain and sorrow because He has been through what you are going through. And nothing you are going through can withstand the power of the Holy Spirit. The problem exists, but your faith sees the end Jesus sees. Get on the side of your faith and turn your worries into worship.
I pray the musical selection, I Believe by Charity Gayle, encourages you to lay down your worries and pick up your faith!
