You Define Your Future With Your Words Today

Our words are potent and transformative. Scripture tells us Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (Proverbs 18:21).

Expressions get embedded in our minds and can have lasting effects. One word could change the trajectory of your life. So, what you tell yourself does matter. It will lift you or tear you down. It can take you further than you’ve ever been, or prevent you from achieving anything. So, you shape your future with your words today.

The words of others can decide your future, and so can the words you speak to yourself. Beloved, what have you been whispering inside your head? Do you encourage yourself or put yourself down? Are you declaring what God says about you or believing your nemesis' lies? Are you making yourself feel less than whom He says you are? Are you allowing doubt to determine your identity? Does your past keep reminding you of those; awful decisions; that led to your downfall? Or do you believe God has forgiven you and put your sins as far as the east is from the west? (Psalms 103:11-12).

Sure, you have made unwise decisions that lead to your demise. You have sinned and come short of the glory of God. You even made mistakes that show you are not flawless. Likewise, you pursued things outside the will of God. Still, God calls you a friend. He did not ask you to be perfect, but He did make you perfectly whole.

So that you acknowledge whom God created you to be, let me remind you of what God says about you.

You are chosen. (Ephesian 1:4)

You are forgiven. (Ephesians 1:7)

You are loved. (John 3:16).

You are the apple of His eye. (Psalms 17:8)

You have the breath of the Almighty. (Job 33:4)

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalms 139:14)

In Christ, you are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You are a child of God. (John 1:12)

You are strong in the Lord and the power of His might. (Ephesians 6:10).

You grow in wisdom and favor with God. (Luke 2:52)

Beloved, from this moment, start speaking in agreement with who God says you are. You will never be the same.

I pray the musical selection, God Is in This Story by Katy Nicole and Big Daddy Weave stirs your heart and reminds you who you are in Christ.
