Vengeance is Mine, Says The Lord

Harriett is a timeless film. A scene shows an opportunity for her cruel Master Anthony Thompson; to set her free. He puts a stop from this happening. This hurts Harriet, leaving her angry. She goes to a place and prays for God to kill him. He dies. When someone treats you inhumanly, your instinct could be to get even. You justify it by coming up with excuses that seem reasonable. We know that the Bible teaches us not to retaliate and seek vengeance. “But I say to you,] love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may [show yourselves to] be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on those who are evil and on those who are good, and makes the rainfall on the righteous [those who are morally upright] and the unrighteous [the unrepentant, those who oppose Him].” (Matthew 5:44-45, AMP, Proverbs 24:17; Romans 8:28, 12:20). Beloved, place those who oppose and harm you in the Lord’s hand and watch Him grant you an unprecedented favor while taking what they meant for evil and turning int into your good. So, here is my question:

Will God answer a prayer when someone asks Him to kill their enemy? Please explain your answer. (Also, this part may be fictional as I have found no evidence to verify this in my research about Harriet).

Give us an example of what we should ask God to do to our enemies? Explain your answer.

Can you share a testimonial about a time when you choose to forgive and not seek revenge?

Are you having trouble forgiving someone who has hurt you? Let's Talk! Submit your prayer requests.
