The Importance to Decompress and Solitude

These are unusual times and can cause anyone to experience emotional and mental distress. It may be mind-boggling. Beloved, find the time to decompress. With social distancing, you may believe this, too, is impossible. But it’s not because this is necessary. My ten-year-old grandson, Johnathan, even understands the importance of having that quiet time alone. Jesus did this too. Through Jesus’ life, we learn the value of solitude. He often went to a place and spent hours alone with His Father in prayer. (Luke 5:16, Mark 1:35). Sometimes, silence brings the most incredible peace. For me, it’s going to the park, walking the trail with my flags, listening to praise and worship music while praying. Since the parts are closed in my neighborhood, I use the mini-park in the back of my building. For others, it could be taking a walk, reading your favorite book, or spending moments with someone dear.

Your physical and psychological well-being can’t handle too much anxiety without affecting you. The pressures of life can bring; undo stress, cause you to lash out and become discouraged. Beloved, it’s a good idea to separate yourself from people to enjoy moments alone. Your body, mind, and spirit need this, and you do. You’ll discover it helps you relax and soothes your soul.

I pray the song, Hiding Place, As The Deer by Maranthran Singers stirs your faith in God.
