The Effects of Blaming Others

A few days ago, a friend said, ‘Because Trump is president, the way white people treat us has grown worse.’ I disagreed with her. Some enjoy blaming another person regarding the behaviors or actions of others. You believe the situation would have turned out more ideal had it not been because of what somebody did. The power of influence exists. Besides, the means someone mistreats an individual is not because of their genetic identity; it’s what’s in their heart.

Beloved, affixing blame changes nothing. These attitudes do affect those around you, causing them to follow your example and assign fault. Placing guilt on somebody prevents those answerable to accept responsibility for what they do that’s offensive. You’re supporting their need to continue doing wrong. It makes their choice to disregard the feelings of others to grow even stronger. Even God holds us answerable for what we do. “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12, AMP). Don’t offer any excuse to justify why anyone does anything. Instead of overlooking those who offend anybody, hold them accountable. They may get upset and angry. The time will come when they thank you for teaching them the seriousness of not blaming anyone.

I pray the song; You're to Blame by MercyMe stirs your heart.
