We Owe our Youths Respect When They Don’t Respect Us!
1 Peter 2:17 tells us to “Be respectful to all — keep loving the brotherhood, fearing God and honoring the emperor.”
If there is one thing I learned when I was a Substitute Teacher, it is to respect each student I taught. When you foster a classroom that shows each person you value and honor them, it changes the atmosphere. You won’t have to intimidate, nor bribe them with broken promises either. Our youth is smarter than most give them credit for. Yes, they are still blossoming and have much to understand, but the children perceive when someone holds them in the highest esteem. They are more likely to respond with kindness and return more with a reverential and gracious attitude. My Friend, make them feel important because they are. Show each one how much you admire the little things and their greatest efforts. To make it simple, your actions should reveal you like them. Beloved, if we want them to regard us, we first must lead the example by respecting them even when they make it challenging.
I pray the song; Indescribable by Hillsong Young and Free stirs your heart and faith in God.
