Everyone goes through seasons involving hills and valleys. We recognize we don’t escape circumstances from occurring because they’re part of existence. When such a time interferes with a person’s quality of life, you must search your soul to discover the cause. This usually is because of patterns of behaviors, beliefs, and thinking that hinders your emotional and mental well-being. “For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]. For the willingness [to do good] is present in me, but the doing of good is not.” (Romans 7:15-20, AMP). To overcome these actions, you acknowledge that change’s a necessary step. The Lord can bridge the gap between the conflict with your flesh and the Holy Spirit that wants to set you free.
Beloved, the dawn of a new year is an incredible time to let God transform you by renewing your mind. (Romans 12:2). You could start by surrendering any thoughts and repetitive practices that no longer serve your greater good. You’ve noticed how such forces have kept you stuck and unable to go forward. They kept you connected to people whose negativity is damaging you. Beloved, you owe yourself better. This requires taking responsibility for your contribution to how things have gotten out of control. My Friend, no more blaming, making excuses, and lying to yourself. Throw in the towel of self-indulgence, pride, even overthinking the worse outcome. God will do a new thing in your heart to get you to where you should be. Allow Him to change you by submitting to His will so you’ll experience the abundant life He designed for you.
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, AMP)
