Let Your Why Become Your Praise

Don't worry - Praise the Lord!
Don't worry - Praise the Lord!

Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6)

When I first heard the song, Close by We Are Messengers, it ministered to me profoundly. One phrase in this song says, “Maybe the why just don't matter.” And maybe this is where we need to get to when we go through troublesome seasons. So, instead of asking God why things are happening, we should trust Him because He tells us to thrust all our cares on Him. (1 Peter 5:7). It only takes a mustard seed faith to let it go and lay it at his feet. And all that takes is coming before His presence and thanking and praising Him. (Psalms 143:8).

It is human nature to search for answers to the unknown. However, going down that path can lead to discouragement and despair, which is the position the enemy wants you to be in. Down in that pit he throws in doubt, makes you overthink, and sends the worst images into your mind. Then, you struggle to see the good amidst the bad because fear has overwhelmed you. It leads to fighting a battle God never intended you to be fighting. My friend, despite all your doubts, change your “why” to praise. Recall what He did before and encourage yourself in the Lord.

What are you willing to take to draw closer to God? Is it those challenges you are facing? What about your concerns over the future? Whatever it is, maybe the why just doesn’t matter because what matters most is to trust Him no matter what. Beloved, do you have the faith to let it go? He has collected the tears we have cried in a bottle and recorded each in a book. (Psalms 56:8). He cares deeply about every detail of our lives. Everything we go through touches Him profoundly.

Thrust all your cares on Him and rest at His feet. He works all things out for your greater good as only He could. So, do not hurry through the heartache, regardless of how painful it is. If it is what it takes to draw closer to God, then let Him have His way.

Maybe the why just don't matter

What if it's not for me to know

Maybe the point is just to trust

YouFind the faith to let it go

I pray this song, Close, by Messenger, stirs your heart to let your why become your praise while you trust the Lord no matter how long it takes.
