Whatever You Are Facing Must Face God
Through you we push down our foes; through your name we tread down those who rise up against us. (Psalms 44:5, ESV)
Dear One, whatever you are facing must face God before it faces you. Have you ever thought about this in this way? Every struggle, challenge, and hardship must face God first, even before it touches you. He may not remove it, but He will go with you through it; however, you are not alone in this battle. And guess what? Israel was no different; as long as they obeyed and trusted in Him, they never lost a battle. Let’s recount their magnificent history.
After Moses died, Joshua led them across the Jordan River. The walls of Jericho came crashing down after they marched around the city for seven days. They made it to the promised land. Their response is recorded in Joshua 6:20.
What walls has God brought down for you? The walls built from doubt, fear, or your struggles or addictions. The Lord did not allow you to face them alone. He brought them down before, delivered and set you free, and He will do it again.
How about the time Deborah and Barak led the battle against Sisera and his 900 iron chariots? In fact, Barak would not even go unless she was by his side. The Lord routed the army of Sisera and his chariots and all his army before Barak by the edge of the sword. (Judges 4:15-16)
These are only two of the victorious battles God fought for Israel when all odds were against them. What mountains stand in your way? Is it the cost of living? Debt that is shouting louder than your income? Challenging relationships that refuse to thrive—health issues that linger and only get worse? Before the battle begins, you are fighting a battle He has already won. Dear One, breathe! If He does not remove the mountain, the Lord will make a way out of no way.
He split the Red Sea, rolled the stone away, and even made the sun stand still. (Exodus 14:13-30; Matthew 28:1-2; Joshua 10:13). God fought and won countless battles while utterly destroying Israel’s enemies. Do you not recognize that you are precious in His sight? And no good thing will He withhold from those who walk upright. (Isaiah 43:1-5; Psalms 84:11). Whatever you are facing has met its match in the matchless power of God. You are victorious because the God I serve has never lost a battle!
