For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11, ESV
Christmas is a joyous occasion of the year. It is my favorite time of the season. Though it will be different for many, I plan for this to be the grandest Christmas ever. Why shouldn't it be? Isaiah had prophesied the birth of Jesus centuries ahead of time. While the shepherds were in the field, angels appeared and confirmed His arrival. A host of angelic angels exalted this glorious announcement by worshiping in Psalms. (Luke 2:14-18).
They came to Bethlehem and found Him lying in the manger with Mary and Joesph, and could not contain their joy. It amazed everyone who heard of this spectacular event, so the news spread throughout the region. Dear One, God’s goodness to us never ceases as He continues to provide despite what many call uncertain times. Beloved, never let your circumstances decide how you celebrate this holiday. Whether you will be with family or, like others, spend it alone, there is no reason not to enjoy it.
Jesus has no favorites because He is Emmanuel, God with us. He came for you and me. He has a heart for the outcast, the hurting, and those wandering in the wilderness. Christ made no one feel unloved or unwanted. His birth brought salvation to redeem humanity. There is hope because of who He is and the light that helps you, make it through the darkness. I believe it is significant you know how valuable you are to Christ. He finds it honorable to be your Savior and would enjoy it if you allow Him to be everything you need and more than you expected.
That said - Knowing Jesus is the reason for the season, I wanted to do something different and majestic to celebrate the day we honor His birth. Here is the song He gave me to share with you. It is to the tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. As you, your family, and your friends prepare for this spectacular day, remember that no matter how many gifts you receive or give, Jesus is the best gift ever! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
You better prepare, you better rejoice, you better get ready I’m telling you why Jesus Christ is coming to town. He’s made His list with mercy and grace, He has enough for the whole wide world. Jesus Christ is coming to town.
He’s Emmanuel, God with us, born to save us. He came to set us free from sin, so give Him your heart, and you’ll never be the same. Oh, you better prepare, you better rejoice, you better get ready I’m telling you why Jesus Christ is coming to town.
I pray the song, Jesus, Born on This Day; by Avalon stirs your heart and brings you joy.
