They call this the new normal, while others long to return to the way it was. Whichever you choose, I prefer neither. Let’s examine how it was before COVID-19 change the world’s way of living. Working and other activities became more important than time with family. People use freedom of speech to bash anybody they oppose on social media. Even the elected officials practice this with no regard to the effects it has on society. The cost-of-living skyrockets in America while social injustice marches on as if everybody owes those abusing the law their loyalty. Discrimination and inequality show no mercy in gender and income disparities. Amid this, God has been calling us to love others and have no undue bias. (Acts 10:34-35). Regard no one based on their rank, status, or importance.
The new era comprises a nation overwhelmed with violence, anger, and rage. People’s hearts are more hardened than ever. Crime has escalated. Trust in law enforcement has declined, and the call for defunding police causes added tension. Families are struggling while several businesses have closed shop. The quarantine has taken its emotional toll on many. COVID-19 cases in the United States are now at 7.45 million while the President continues to give false hope and capitalizing on his diagnostic of the virus. Regardless of this, the Almighty beacon everyone to look to God for He along is our hope. (Psalms 121:1-2).
Churches are operational, but at a time we need to be in the house of God, it’s only for 50 congrats or fewer. With the fear of the virus, many won’t step feet in the church. It’s even prohibited in several states to re-open. Now, more than ever, go the extra mile and encourage others. (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Even somebody you don’t know or care for needs someone to remind them they aren’t alone.
Remote learning provides ease and comfort for parents, but can’t compare to hands on experience and the interaction a classroom brings. Those students who need one-on-one with a Personal Aide are at risk of losing vital learning skills. And what of parent’s who have no choice than to send their children back to school?
Racial division yet rips this country apart. People are looking to various causes for social change. What they’re getting is an escalation in anger, animosity, and hatred. Anytime you put trust in people who promote their beliefs regardless if it results in violence, vandalism, and hostility, nothing good comes from it. (1 Peter 3:9).
I don't know what the future of United States will be. But someone has to do the right thing. When we sit passively by and do nothing to uphold godly values, we are no better than those smearing this country with their selfish immoral ways. Something is on the horizon, and it’s of urgency for repentance and seeking God before it's too late.
"Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:6-7, NASB)
