Faith Sees Beyond What Is

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the highest shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (Pslams 91:1-2, KJV)

Not everyone enjoys being in the dark with no access to light. It’s as though you’re blind and left alone to make it on your own. When difficulties overwhelm us and no answer is in sight; it’s as if you are in the dark without something to guide you. This makes you feel uncomfortable and may even make you afraid. Most think life would be better if they could see how circumstances will turn out. We don’t like being in unchartered territory because we don’t know what lies ahead. With that uncertainty, fear grips us and can cause us to miss our blessing.

The strange thing about faith is we don’t see the end. We do not know what will be until it happens. It’s what makes faith so different and challenging. It’s trusting God, even when circumstances seem impossible for anything good to come forth. Our faith in the Lord sees the end that God sees. It's why faith is not governed by how we feel or what it looks like on the surface. That’s why faith sees beyond what is to what will be. It looks into the spiritual realm where the Lord has already performed the supernatural.

Beloved, when your mind says; there is no way this can occur. Faith says; it’s a done deal. The thoughts declare you are not qualified to do this. Faith hears the Lord’s sweet voice say; you can do all things through God who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13). The images play the worst-case scenario like a non-stop repeat button. Faith reveals God’s promises and its hall of records in Hebrews 11. We have but two choices, walk by faith or believe the enemy. (1 corinthians 5:7). God never intended us to know the outcome before we’ve given faith a chance. It will not disappoint us because it’s grounded on God’s Word that never fails.

Question For Reflection:

The Bible says it is impossible to please God without faith. What are some challenges you faced that helped your faith to be pleasing to God?
