Day 28 - Proverbs Chapter 28

Updated: Jan 7, 2021

How many times does God have to caution us on the relevance of wisdom? What does it take for a nation to listen and abide by sound judgment? People conceal the truth as it’s a guiding light. They cover up their illegal conduct and seek to destroy anyone who may espouse their wicked ways. Even those who indulge in acts of injustice receive stern warnings. (V5) (13). My Friend, it’s better to be in lack than the wealthy who devise crooked schemes. (V 6). Oh, how the country could flourish and prosper if we but heed the directions in Proverbs.

Integrity is an honor to those who live by it, but sudden destruction comes to anyone who continues to lie, cheat, and steal their way to the top. (v 18). So, correcting someone teaches them to embrace truth over error. We’re not to condemn anybody because the Lord will judge those who don’t appreciate the precious gift of salvation. They don’t require flattery or a slap on the risk. They should uphold these men to the letter of the law in the toughest form for their transgressions. (v 23) There is no greater honor than the one who acknowledges their sins, repents, and willing to accept the outcome regardless of the consequences.

I pray our commanders to saturate themselves in these transformative guidelines. It includes both governmental and church leaders. We’ve seen enough from those who defile the ordinances of God. This world’s being ripped apart, but the remnant of God is on the rise. The call goes out to everyone to stop trusting that you’re above the law and walks in wisdom. Confess your sin, forsake your awful lifestyle, and God will have mercy. The Lord will deliver and set you free. (V 26).
