Day 14 - Proverbs Chapter 14

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

We see the word trending often, and it informs us what’s popular or frequently discussed online. Maybe it’s a movie, the current hot topic, even a video. What disturbs me is what’s trending in America. The hearts of people have hardened. Anger and violence continue to explode like a never-ending epidemic. Bashing and badmouthing others stirs more discouragement and despair. Even Christians focus more on complaining than encouraging themselves in the Lord.

Proverbs again give up hope. It instructs to be slow to get angry and stay calm. (Proverbs 14:29, NASB). Tempers are flaring, and many aren’t listening to sound counsel. It breeds acting from emotions and not being led by the spirit of God. No wonder, because righteousness that exalts a nation. (Proverbs 14:34). Any leader who adapts and practices these customs are walking in wisdom. We have seen little of such actions from our leaders. We’ve heard enough of badmouthing from them. It’s time for inspiration and a message to empower forgiveness and love. Sin has raised its disgusting head and shown off for too long. Beloved, rise, and recover what the devil stole. We must seize every opportunity the Lord gives us to be a doer of these principles. Doing what’s right regardless of the consequences remains the best example everybody needs to see.

We need hearts of compassion infesting our communities, learning institutions, and society. When sticking back opens a door, respond in kindness, and put the enemy to shame. Replace hatred with love, hope, and faith, then slap hostility with mercy and grace. We don’t demand another broken promise pretending somebody care; we will thrust our concerns on God, the author, and finisher of our faith. Beloved, let’s start a new trend by saturating this world with crazy faith, standing out from the crowd, doing the contrary, and causing good trouble. Let us bring everybody into an encounter with God.
