Day 12 - Proverbs Chapter 12

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

People had great expectations when 2020 begins. Their optimism was high, with great expectations of a year with double blessings. From one terrible event to the next, we’ve seen everything except this. January brought us the death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, and everyone on the helicopter. It baffled American’s minds. Wildfires engulf Colorado and California, burning out of control.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has created panic and uncertainty. Social unrest over the senseless death of George Floyd by a white police officer sat this nation in turmoil. The call for defunding the law enforcement has led to violent clashes between them and the protesters. Add this to an election year where Americans hope to be the answer for a change. None of these events have brought peace, serenity, or tranquility. Neither will the results of an elected official. It has escalated to a higher stress level for countless Americans.

Anxiety found its way even in the homes of those with unshakable faith in God. Proverbs answer your dilemma. Our only hope lies in Jesus. Spend more time encouraging each other. It’s the season to extend your kindness and check on someone you would have never considered. Start a prayer chain for troublesome people. Pray the Lord delivers them and not for what you want to happen. Be a beacon of light and speak the truth, not fear and lies. Start a cause and bring real reform. Don’t follow those who use a call for social change to vandalize, filling the nation with hatred and violence. People are crying out for help. Most want a world free from this madness that’s ripping us apart. We need an answer only Jesus can give us. We need a massive move of God to invade people’s heart, mind, and spirit.
