People had great expectations at the arrival of 2020. Their optimism was high with the assurance of a year of double blessings. From one terrible event to the next, we've seen everything except this. January brought us the death of basketball legend Kobe Byrant, his 13-year-old daughter, and everyone on the helicopter. It baffled American's mind.Wild fires burns out of control in California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has created panic and uncertainty. Social unrest over the senseless death of George Floyd by a white police officer sat this nation in a turmoil. The call for defunding the police have led to violent clashes between them and the protesters. Add this to an election year where Americans hopes to be the answer for change. None of these events have brought peace, serenity, or tranquility. And neither will the results of an election. But it has escalated in a higher stress level of countless Americans.
Anxiety and worry have found it's way even in the homes of those with unshakable faith in God. Proverbs gives the answer to your dilemma. Our only hope lies in Jesus. We need to spend more time encouraging each other. Exercise more patience and goodness than you ever have with your family. It's time to extend your kindness and check on someone you would have never considered. Start a prayer chain for difficult people. Pray God's Word of deliverance over them and not for your will to be done. Be a beacon of light and speak truth, not fear and lies. Start a cause and bring real reform. Don't follow those who's using a call for social change to vandalize, fill the world with hatred, and violence. People's crying out for hope. Most want a world free from this madness ripping us apart. We need an answer only Jesus can provide. We need a massive move of God to invade people's heart, mind, and spirit.
Question - If it were me
Sitting on the sidelines and badmouthing leadership and blaming others is trending in America. Many think they know the best solution to heal this country. Jesus didn't put in the mess we're in but He's the only One who can get us out of it.
If you were our next President, how would you bring reform to this nation in desperate need of revival?
