This world needs encouragement. People are hurting and filled with despair. Many are angry because they’re hurting. And then some are edifiers, but they too; need encouragement. We all need someone to lift us once in a while. So, let’s strive harder to be a source of hope and inspiration to others. You never know what someone is going through. They may seem happy, but inside they’re undergoing hardships. Some people have the resilience to stay strong even during their hardest battles. They never complain, while their demeanor is always upbeat and cheerful. To put it differently, their enthusiasm light up the room. This person knows how to make others smile though their life is in turmoil. When you spend time with them; you do not understand they are suffering. Their selfless love for others outweighs boasting of their concerns. And even when they aren’t going through anything, they too require encouragement.
Even when someone brings adversities on themselves, they need someone to remind them there is hope. Beloved, stop the judging and look beyond their faults and see the need. Put yourself in their place and think of how you would want others to treat you and do so to them. One day, I was walking to the bus stop I saw an elderly man in a wheelchair. This was not the electrical one. It was the type you use your feet to move. I watched as he slowly moved one foot at a time. I also noticed others passing him by, and no one asked to help him. I called out; “Sir! Sirs! … Do you need someone to push you across the street?” And he replied; yes. So, I did so to him. And I thought to myself as I walked back to the bus stop, this is how I would want someone to treat me. Jesus always looked out for the broken, the lost, and those that were hurting. He came to save them.
"Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he, too, is a[spiritual] son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:9-10, AMP).
Even the one whose outcome would have been better had they obeyed Him. (Jeremiah 30:17, Isaiah 16:3-4, Matthew 9:1-2)). He spent time with them. Christ ministered to them and wasn’t ashamed to associate with such people. He befriended them and made each feels as important as they were. (John 4:9). So, be sensitive and hug them. Say something kind and thoughtful to brighten their day. The Lord exhibited compassion because they mattered to Him. “When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion and pity for them, because they were dispirited and distressed, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is [indeed] plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:36). True Christianity reigns when the only time we look down on others is when we are helping them recognize someone's values and love them. I believe in treating people better than I want someone to treat me. Also, I want to treat the person better than I think someone deserves. Regardless of the condition, you find someone in, leave them feeling better than they were. Make them feel like they are worth more than gold because they are.
