Impacting the World Through Praise and Worship

VERNITA LAUNCHES New Book Release!

Beloved, your charge is to effect change within your community, society, culture and the nations. When the enemy creates havoc within any of these regions, the praise, and worshipers and prayer warriors should be gathering, praying, interceding, and ministering the word of God. In a word, they are to do the contrary and turn the world upside down.

But when they failed to find them, they dragged Jason and some brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here too.

-Acts 17:6 – Note 1-9

Several years ago, the Lord blessed me to live in a community plagued by drug addicts, violence, hopelessness, and despair. Even sitting outside in the front was at your own risk because you never knew when someone would begin shooting. At that time, my daughter just entered middle school. And I thought to myself; “I’ve never lived in such conditions, and I wasn’t about to get used to doing so.” But I knew God had a purpose for granting me the opportunity to reside in such a community.

So, I executed a plan with the residents and several community leaders, which brought awareness to the inhumanly means in which the tenants lived. I became a community advocate.

God blessed me to meet Kindelon Shelton who introduced me to his mother, an anointed woman of God, Mother Martha Sheldon who had prayed and desired to begin a Bible study class. With her permission, we organized a Bible Study and conducted in her apartment with our Prayer Warriors within the apartment complex. All were welcome to attend. Additionally, I wrote letters to then-President Bill Clinton and US Senators. And I went on and served as a liaison at the monthly community meetings.

Furthermore, I orchestrated an exclusive meeting with the Executive Director of Orange Housing Authority with key residents in my apartment which led to change and empowerment. Since I was a preferred Substitute Teacher for the school district, collaborating with the Executive Director and the Principal of the school within the community, an after-school program was established. We witness God change and transform lives. The community was restored, renewed and rejuvenated. We saw God evict the enemy. We saw life and vitality come back in that community.

When good people sit back and allow the enemy to invade their community, culture, society, nation, even learning institutions perhaps due to fear, God will raise up a worshiper and a prayer warrior who is not afraid to cry aloud against such evil.

You have been given authority by God Almighty to bring reform and restoration to that which appears to be unsolvable, unchangeable and undoable. It’s time to gather at someone’s home, the local church, in your home, even in the town square and peacefully prays, speak out and make a difference. It’s time for a radical transformation.

In this way, where such malevolence exits within your society or when you hear your Christian brothers and sisters abroad are being persecuted and their life has been threatened, enact your praise and worship and touch and agree in prayer and watch God do what is out of the ordinary. Petition for their tortures to be delivered and set free. Implore their plan and methodology be demolished. God can renew them by transforming their mind.

Any area with hopelessness and despair needs an encounter with the living God. Furthermore, God has equipped us to stand in the gap and effect change. No longer can the church hide behind the four walls. No longer can the church hide behind titles.

We must no longer continue to sit within the stained-glass windows, walking on a luxurious plush carpet and a beautiful sanctuary while those who are hurting is being torn asunder with hopelessness and despair. It’s time to wake up and be proactive.

In order to get them inside the four walls of the church, the church must go outside the four walls. This world has a countless number of people both Christians and non-believers who are facing real-life issues. Some are wondering how they will feed their family. Others are fighting to save their marriage. Still, for some, today will be their last day at work and there’s no guarantee when another position will open. Someone has to go to school on tomorrow and suffer through another week of bullying. There are those who are depressed. And so much more.

We have to be the light. It’s incumbent to come out our comfort zone and do what is inconvenient. We must help them to bear their burdens by being passionate and impactable. We have no other choice than to get involved. Thus, let the Worshipers and Prayer Warriors arise and take back what the enemy stole.

In what means are you impacting lives within your community, at home, at the workplace, and withing your culture and society?
