By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path. I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back from living by your righteous order.
(Psalms 119:105 MSG)
Beloved, God made us in His image. His image is filled with goodness, being positive, and living a productive healthy life. However, some rather swaddle in negativity and complain while dwelling on the worst possible outcome. However, you can choose to make a difference and be a beacon of light they so desperately need to see. You can show them the path which leads to a brighter and better future.
3. Chronic Complainers
Surely, those who have a negative outlook on life are difficult to please. They constantly complain about whatever they feel is causing them to have a bad day. When the situation does not turn in their favor, life has dealt them a bad hand. Life isn’t fair. They have convinced themselves the world owes them something. What that is, I have no idea. It could be their place of employment, the weather, their family, friends, an issue with their health, etc. And even if there’s no need to complain, they will create a reason to complain.
Praises and Thankfulness
You see – your mouth pours out praise and encouragement. You can inspire some, maybe not all, to believe and walk by faith. And your presence changes the atmosphere and lifts others. You can help others see their situation from a better perspective and look for the best in every situation. In a word, when life knocks you down, you teach others how to get back up – again.
4. Believe the Worst-case Scenario
In their eyes, life is full of doom, darkness, sadness, and misery. And, quite frankly, that’s the way they love it. Any report they receive of their health or circumstances, they automatically begin to speak negatively. They choose to believe the bad rather than the good outcome. In actuality, they want the worst to occur. If possible, it will be used to their advantage, or so, they think!
Trust God No Matter What
But see, you can show them how to have an “I can attitude” because your faith is in God and not what is happening around you. You know that life includes disappointments, setbacks, and hardships. However, you’re not governed by your circumstances. You are empowered by the promises of God. And you know that it will either change for the better. Or, God will move it out of the way. And if that does not happen, He will give you the unquenchable joy to endure it gracefully.
We will conclude this series next week. In the meantime, remember, you are blessed to be a blessing. Beloved, let Your Light Shine Bright!
