We all need a Wellness Plan, wouldn't you agree? Psalms 121:1-2 and Hebrews 13:6, ESV, assure us that all our help comes from the Lord. We can look to Him regardless of any crisis we face. Since He created the heavens and earth, we can trust that He will take care of us. That said, Dear One, let me introduce you to Jesus. He is my everything!
The Bible serves as our rehab:
It instills hope to see beyond our troubles, helping us move beyond feelings of helplessness toward a life transformed by the power of God. The Word of God empowers us to resist conforming to the ways of the world by renewing our minds. Old habits, beliefs, even attitudes have passed away; behold, all things are new. (Romans 12:2). His Word equips us with the tools to overcome difficulties, connect with God, and live again.
Jesus is the best therapist ever:
He is concerned about our mental health as much as our physical well-being. He is patient as we navigate our struggle with fear, distrust, and tension. Likewise, the Lord blesses us with a support system through friends, professionals, and even the church. Seeking help takes tremendous courage; still, Christ reassures us that we are not alone in our battles. On the road to recovery, He guides us where we can receive the help we so desperately need, as promised in Proverbs 11:14.
The Holy Spirit is the Life Coach who guides us into all truth.
Sometimes, we need help in achieving our goals and mapping out a plan to follow through. We have limited understanding, but the wisdom of God directs us to the ultimate source, God. Whether we turn to the right or left, we will hear His voice, urging us when we wander off course. This is the right road, keep following me. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:26; Isaiah 30:21)
Above all, God is my doctor who prescribes the best medicine, which is a cheerful heart flourishing in His peace that makes no sense, that protects us from despair. (Proverbs 17:22, ESV). He wants us whole in every aspect of our lives. So He corrects, strengthens, brings us hope, heals, and even trains us in how to live. This process shapes our character, instills virtues, and cultivates a life that reflects who God truly is. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Our Savior works diligently while conforming us into the image of Christ. Whatever pressures we face--mental challenges, an unstable economy, health-related issues--the heart posture of the world that causes us to need healing of our mind, body, and spirit, they could be there for Jesus to refine us into portraying the life of Christ.
May the song, The Way by John Reddick, stir your heart.
